Balázs Sudár

historian, Turkologist

He completed his university studies at the Eötvös Loránd University, Department of Turkish Philology and History, and in 1998 he graduated as a history teacher. He also completed his doctoral studies at the Department of Turkish Philology.

He worked as a librarian in the Oriental Collection of the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), as a lecturer at the Department of Turkish Philology of Eötvös Loránd University, and then as a teaching assistant. Between 2008 and 2014, he was an assistant professor at the Department of Altajistics of the University of Szeged. From 2003 he was a senior researcher at the Institute of History of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), the head of the Hungarian Prehistoric Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA). Since 2019 he has been a museologist at the Budapest History Museum. Among other things, he is the editor of the book series called Hungarian Prehistory.

He has used his research as a musician with the musical ensemble Musica Historica, and since 1997 he has been playing classical Turkish music with the self-founded ensemble Canlar.

At the conference, he is one of the invited speakers on the topic of Hungarian Prehistories.
