Péter Illés

museologist, cultural anthropologist

He completed his university studies at the Department of Cultural and Visual Anthropology of the University of Miskolc. He obtained his doctorate in 2012 at the Eötvös Loránd University’s Ph.D. program in European Ethnology. Since 2001 he has been an museologist of the Savaria Museum in Szombathely. He is an independent and co-organizer of several exhibitions, a participant in domestic and international cultural projects. Since 2011 he has been the rapporteur of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Vas County.

His research concerns are the socio-cultural changes of contemporary rural communities, material culture, ethnographic photography, and the fields of museology and museum theory.

He is one of the invited speakers on the In the Field topic at the conference.
